Snapshot Day Countdown . . . and now…for reason #7

Participating in Snapshot Day provides data to the SCASL Advocacy Committee to use in creating advocacy tools. The committee used data from Snapshot Day Spring 2011 in the creation of an advocacy brochure that was mailed out to state and national legislators, school board chairmen, superintendents, and principals this year.

Comment from Snapshot Day in April 2012, Susan Prettyman, Kershaw County :

“I enjoyed participating in Snapshot Day. It helped me focus on promoting our wonderful library with teachers and administrators. I look forward to seeing the summary of the month of snapshots across the state.”

It’s time for Regional News!! Deadline October 15

The back to school issue of our SCASL sponsored professional publication Media Center Messenger is still very fresh on my mind.  It was a spectacular issue, though I am still hearing from South Carolina librarians who had news go unreported in the Regional News section.  Our August back to school issue had such a early deadline that some of the coordinators and contacts struggled to get folks to respond to the requests for news.  I understand it is SUCH a busy time.
I have asked the Regional Network to share this link that will enable you to submit noteworthy news items directly to SCASL for inclusion in our Regional News section of the next Media Center Messenger.  The deadline is October 15.
Please feel free to submit news worthy items on your own. This will help us collect that news that is published with each MCM.
